I haven’t posted in 1 month?! No!!ย

So…basically I’ve just realized that I haven’t blogged in a month, but instead of making a plethora of excuses as I so usually catch myself doing, I decided I would update you all with my drawings:) I hope that with this unexpected tangent that I’ve taken, I will still have readers who still enjoy my context, and I do apologize for being so inconsistent lately. Anyways, here are some of the drawings I’ve posted on Instagram put never got to upload here.

This first photo is one that I drew from the Instagram account of Lacie, one of the Top 4 Finalists from Americas Next Top Model Cycle 22. (And last cycle ever:() She was one of my top 2 favorites since the show began, and I just had to draw her! (Side note: ultimate favorite was always Nyle and I’m still extremely happy that he won!)

If you’ve been reading my blog for a couple of months now, you may have noticed that I have quite the obsession with Dr.Who. (It’s kind of a big deal.) Anyways, as any Whovian would naturally do, I drew one of my favorite Who companions Clara Oswald pictured here. (Also if anyone here also watches Dr.Who, then 1st of all; Yaaass! And second: yes, yes I did draw her because I was the saddest ever with Face the Raven and I was relieved to see her in episodes after!)

Of course, at the end of the day I always seem to resort to cartoon-sequel portrait drawings, and here’s another to add to the never-ending collection I guess๐Ÿ˜‚. Apparently, she looks like Adele (or so I’ve heard!) but I don’t quite see it…
this next one is very recent, and it took FOREVER to complete, but I’m quite pleased with the end result, and it’s one of the only times I actually filled up the whole page with a drawing! Finally, for my last drawing! This one is actually my favorite of them all,and I’m not sure if it’s because of excessive editing before I uploaded this, but the hair looks so cool and I’m so happy with how it turned out๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š.
I hope you enjoyed, and I’ll hopefully be posting soon!

XOXO,Nessa:)

Fashion Collection Sketches!ย

Ahh, I’m so excited! I’m finally restarting this drawing series, but with a more focused take: fashion design. I’m quite happy with the end result, and I really hope that I could continue to do this and blog about…well anything, for the next few months. I know that I’ve really been absent on my blog for a couple of weeks now, and for some reason I’ve been feeling unmotivated and uninspired. And no matter how much I want to be able to blog, I’m coming to terms with the fact that I am really having a bloggers block. And yes, it does suck. So, for now here are some of my drawings:) hopefully I’ll be back to posting once the pressures of the school year wear off a bit. Until then, I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the day!

All drawings were done in led pencil, prismacolor colored pencils, black sharpie and a shading pencil:)

A Peek Into My Drawing Portfolio!

Ive been given the luck of actually having time and motivation and the same time to draw three drawings in one week…this rarely happens nowadays so I’m actually really excited! All of these drawings were fashion-inspired in some way, as I am really focused on improving my style-illustrations for future fashion university applications. Hope you like:)

This first drawing is inspired by New York Fashion Week and how I envision the hectic backstage scene may look like. I decided to focus on one model (not specific to a show) and show her passing the time before walking down the runway on her phone. I really found this fun and different to draw, as I also got to practice a bit of my fonts as well.
For my next fashion illustration  collection, I was really inspired by Native American cultures in early American history and this sketch-although I decided on not coloring it-was a way for me to practice and visualize the direction I may want to go in for the collection in the future:)

This last look was inspired by the photograph I had printed, as I rally wanted to practice drawing from photography. ๐Ÿ™‚ I really tried to experiment with a style I usually won’t draw with here, attempting to draw a more realistic face rathe than a really cartoon-ish one I always portray, and I also decided on shading in her skin grey to really make the clothing pop.

What do you guys think? If you have any ideas for what you want me to draw next, I would love to hear!

My Attempts At Drawing: Rapunzel in Watercolor!ย

This was pretty tough, as I’ve only drawn one other watercolor photo in the past. However, as time consuming as it turned out to be, I was really happy with the end result, and thought I’d share it with you:)

I found that the color and saturation was really light, so I ended up going over a lot of it in maker, and I thought it gave it a really cool effect, so I keep this throughout the whole sketch:)

Supplies Used:

Watercolor Pencils: Barnes and Noble

Paper: Strathmore Watercolor Paper

Brushes: contemporary crafts

A Peek Into My Recent Fashion Sketchesย

I haven’t blogged in well over a week, and I honestly can’t even begin to describe what a weird feeling it is not not share any content with you guys for so long. I know that for many of you, one week seems like a normal amount of time in between blog posts, but I guess I’ve grown so accustomed with the “blogger life” that I’ve been bothered by the loneliness that is my less-than-up-to-date blog. And for that, I am quite sorry.

Rather than make excuses (as I so frequently tend to do nowadays, I must admit), I am truly going to try my best to fit in a couple of posts a week, on top of my classes as I am now back in school for the past two weeks. (And my, is the workload quickly piling on!) After all, my favorite week of all year is coming up soon, and I simply cannot wait to document it…Fashion Week!!!!!

If I don’t have time to post on time for London, Paris and Milan, then I’ll try to post as many reviews as I can for NYFW:)

For now, as we await the few days until the exciting month of new fashion, here are some inspired clothing sketches I’ve drawn this past week while away from my little blog…

I feel like without even realizing, I was drawing exactly why I wish I could pull out of my closet and wear any day! I really like practical looks that are comfortable but stil make a statement. In this casual look, I paired some dark blue shorts with an Arctic Monkeys white tee….and of course the statement peice: the fedora! Oh and a Starbucks cup in hand for good measure as well because why not?! ๐Ÿ˜‚ (yes, the cup is white and red instead of green…#notdealingwithcopyright…stuff)
This look is basically what I hope my closet would encompass: a toned down and comfortable look, with a nod to grunge fashion but with a modern twist. I’ve really been loving the big knit sweater look lately, and I decided to draw in a pair of knee-high socks and Doc Martens to make the look more suitable for the upcoming fall season.

This look looks a bit more boutique in my eyes when I was visualizing it. I feel like although I would not really wear this at my age, I would love to wear something as blod as this top as well as these heels if I was a bit older:)
And of course, going back to quite some time ago, when my blog was fairly new, I picked a designer that I was inspired by and drew my favorite look. In this case, it was this amazing look from the Fendi 2016 Resort collection. I literally want every peice from this lineup!

My Attempts At Drawing: Fashion Collections!ย

So I’ve finally come the the conclusion that if I have an idea, and I have the time to bring that idea to life: then I probably should. Right? Well, in this case, it’s my long awaited dream of actually constructing the garments that I keep sketching in my head, and drawing on paper….so today I decided to draw something that I could potentially make. It is a bit ambitious since I’m not a professional in sewing, but why not try it?

Below, are 3 looks that I may/may not make in the near future. ๐Ÿ™‚

In a simpler and much more toned down version, I can very much see myself creating both of these looks! One of the things that I learned from the process was how hard it was to really hone in on my own personal aesthetic and how I could show my style in both of these looks. I now truly understand why designers go through dozens of drafts until creating a perfect look: something I will absolutely be doing as well. Although these looks are far from what I would like them to look, the idea is there. Now I just have to start creating:) (and edit like crazy, let’s just be honest!)

This last look was a winter outfit that I felt would cater to a large percent of women today. It’s very versatile with a sophisticated yet not too bold print on the coat, with a much more designed pant. These sinch at the waist as well as the ankeles with extra fabric and think it just adds a very girly look to contrast the rather boxy-looking coat. ๐Ÿ™‚

My Attempts At Drawing: Painting Edition!

Ello everyone! I can’t believe the delay that I have put on my blog lately, it feels like I haven’t posted in ages! I’m practically drowning in my summer homework, but I still had time to finally try out my new watercolor pencils:)

I will admit that the final product does look much different than what I had initially set out to do, but nevertheless I’m quite proud of it. It was surprisingly easy to work with paint, and I will absolutely be working with it in the future:)

This was such a short post…I know. But I’ll be posting more very soon!

So, I Finally Started Illustrating A Fashion Collection!ย

I’ve basically been saying that I would post a fashion collection illustration for about 4 months now, and I truly wanted to, but I was never really happy with the designs or how some how of the sketches came out. One of the most important aspects for someone who designs clothing is actually liking your collection’s aesthetic and image that it’s conveying. It has to be cohesive, root from strong inspiration, and overall: be something that I am proud of. In all, I’m pretty content with the final pieces. I might extend the collection with 6 more looks, but I’m not sure yet. If you would like to see more in the future, like or comment so that I know!
So, this collection is inspired partly by architecture,as well as an overall grunge style. Leather was a huge focus for me in this line, and I borrowed ideas from 80s rock bands and tried to modernize the ideas to not only match the time, but also the daily lives of women today. Bold primary colors such as a prominent red presence, convey a sense of a strong yet feminine figure: an image I focused on capturing as I drew).

Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoyed!

Adding To The Sketchbook

Today, I really wanted to share with you all the process I go through drawing, so along with today’s fashion illustration, I included a fast-motion video! Hope you like it:)

The initial sketch below:

I know this was a really short post, but I will be posting much more lengthier (is that a word?!) posts starting tomorrow! ๐Ÿ™‚
